Surrender Your EXCUSES!
As I continue to work on a study through Daniel, the Holy Spirit has brought something to my heart that needs to be shared. I thought I was done talking about my “Surrender” series, but God always has other plans at times, in ALL of our lives! I personally have felt major growth in my life just over the last few months as I have been trying to practice the act of “Surrender” as well. We can surrender everything from
our computers, to our cell phones, to our times with our Children, to our mates, future mates, marriage. We’ve talked about surrender a lot, and who knows… we could be talking about Surrender a whole lot more.
A quote from this study “Being God’s Man by standing firm under pressure”
Page 56 “Corner a man with the TRUTH, and you’ll quickly see what he’s made of”. Made me realize how fast we are to create excuses for our sins. How quickly we go to blame other’s for what WE may have done wrong. Now the writers not only look at the issues from the stand point of our OWN sin, but also the issue of paying the price of someone else’s sin. In Daniel 9, Daniel prayed one of the most heartfelt, and compassionate prayers. Daniel was truly paying the price for the SIN of his fellow man, and he was begging and pleading before the Lord to forgive them, and asked for mercy upon all of his friends. This is an unbelievable action because as the writer states “this is an unbelievable action because when you have every right to be bitter, but choose instead to help the people who brought disaster to your front porch, that’s real character.”
You see… there’s a whole lot more here than what meets the eye. As I was meditating on this this morning I realized what God was saying when He said “Surrender Your Excuses”. I believe it’s an admittance of SIN. It’s an agreement with God that YOU are a sinner. Daniel prayed as though he was a sinner, and it’s NO COINCIDENCE that s’I'n has the letter “I” in the middle. The bible states that we ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of Christ, Romans 3:23.
As we deal with the issues in our own hearts, and our own lives, I can see where God has brought up the fact that HE wants you in PEACE, and Harmony with HIM! As we Surrender the Excuse of whatever the SIN that we are doing is, we come into agreement with Christ that our SIN truly exists, and HE can and WILL Forgive it and then allow the PEACE of CHRIST beyond ALL UNDERSTANDING to dwell and live in our hearts, and amongst us.
Agreement with the fact that Christ died for our sins, and HE forgives us… Past, Present, and FUTURE. Hang your own sin on the CROSS with HIM, SURRENDER the excuses of “It’s not my fault”, and watch God go to work in a HEALING process to a new and exciting POSITIVE LIFE with HIM! This also includes the forgiveness of yourself! We cannot sit in condemnation, and guilt. We need to surrender, and receive the GRACE of our Savior!
I want to pray for you, and with you about all of this in your life. Write a prayer to the right, and send me an email, be in agreement with Christ. You can do it completely anonymously if you’d like, but take that first step in Faith!

Can we also admit that making excuses is a sin. God has called us to go out and spread the good news…no excuses. I wonder how I am going to feel as I stand before God and say I was to busy, I did not have the time, I did not have the money, I was afraid of what they may think of me or I did not have the proper education. God does not want excuses, he wants action. In a book I read as a teenager there was a line that said “action cures fears”. I believe that fear comes right before the excuses. So what God wants from us today is to to have faith, get into action and stop making excuses for not doing His work.
To all my brothers and sisters in Christ, may the Holy Spirit guide you in your action steps today. Let us all share the Love of God with one another before we say kneel in prayer tonight. Have a blessed day..without excuses.
“Behold He comes, riding on the clouds, shining like the sun” Thanks Del!
